The HUB! is an 8’-diameter sunburst created by fifth and sixth graders at Garfield Elementary School (Spokane, WA) as an after-school project in April 2002. Now displayed in the school’s cafeteria, it is affectionately known as “The Hubster.” This project was sponsored by 21st Century Community Learning Centers.
The Hubster’s head is a hubcap, donated
by B&K Hubcaps in Hillyard,
WA. The Hubster reminds students of all the benefits brought to them
by their school’s HUB program: Drama Club, Movie Night, the Homework
Center, Science Club, Arts & Crafts, Climbing Club and Music activities.
